RJ refrains from investing in companies involved in violating human rights, severely damaging the environment and contravening labour law.
The blacklisted companies in which RJ does not invest include, for example, suppliers to the nuclear arms industry, producers of cluster bombs, oil and mining companies that have caused extensive environmental destruction and companies that employ child workers or ban employees from engaging in trade-union activities.
Since 2006, RJ has been cooperating with the ethical consultancy GES Investment Services AB. RJ has chosen a restrictive approach, and does not permit investments in enterprises that do not comply with RJ's ethical guidelines. RJ follows the GES Global Ethical Standard, the principles of which are based on platforms including the UN Global Compact, the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and international conventions on human rights, the environment and weapons.
