Cataloguing the Research and Reference Library at the House of Design in Hellefors

The House of Design in Hellefors is a unique competence centre in industrial design and a creative meeting place to explore, develop, and receive insights on how design, form, and colour can contribute to sustainability and effect society, industry, and mankind in her environment. The infrastructure of the House of Design is based on three parts: (1) Collection of objects from the 20th century international design history. (2) Research and reference library (The work of making a catalogue has begun). (3) Material library (under development). The House of Design in Hellefors will, in collaboration with the University of Örebro, complete the process of making a catalogue of the library as well as making it available in the LIBRIS catalogue. The library consists of book collections of contemporary and modern art, international design, graphical design, and 20th century architecture and interior design. By making the Research and Reference Library available for research and education at the House of Design in Hellefors, a powerful competence centre and creative meeting place will be created. The combination of the Research and Reference Library and the collection of objects are unique. Researchers and students get the opportunity to read the literature of international design and at the same time study most of the actual objects in reality
