The collection of ephemera at the National Library of Sweden constitutes a large proportion of the printed national cultural heritage. It contains about 10.5 million objects but only a fraction of the collection is searchable via a computerised library catalogue.



Major parts of the collection contain unique material. The project is planned as a pilot study with the purpose of evaluating the time and the resources needed as well as suitable methods to make the collection of ephemera accessible via LIBRIS (The National library catalogue system). The study will focus on the sub-collection of political ephemera. The results and experiences from the study will serve as a basis for a future project with the aim of making the entire collection of ephemera available to higher education and research.



The study is planned to run for a year with one librarian working full time.
