RJ offers researchers time to stay at research institutes
Researchers in the humanities and social sciences can apply for funding from Riksbankens Jubileumsfond (RJ) to stay as fellows at four leading institutes for advanced study.
RJ aims to strengthen the internationalisation of Swedish research in the humanities and social sciences. Therefore, the foundation offers Swedish researchers grants for residential fellowships at four institutes for advanced study during 2026–2027.
During this period, researchers can focus on their research without the demands of teaching and administrative obligations at their home institution. They participate in the institutes' interdisciplinary environments and in academic events beyond their own fields of specialisation. Researchers also receive financial support to create lasting networks and collaborations that benefit the Swedish research community beyond the time spent at the institutes.
Applications are initially assessed by a group of prominent international scholars. A short-list of candidates will be presented to each institute.
RJ is an independent foundation that works to make Swedish research more cross-border, both geographically and disciplinarily. Researchers are now offered access to these internationally renowned institutes and networks in the humanities and social sciences.
