Advanced Studies Programme
The Advanced Studies Programme is an international research initiative funded by Riksbankens Jubileumsfond (RJ), aimed at strengthening Swedish research in the humanities and social sciences through international collaboration.
The programme offers researchers the opportunity to spend extended periods at one of four prestigious institutes for advanced study around the world. During their stay, researchers are given time and space to focus solely on their own work in a vibrant, interdisciplinary academic environment, free from teaching and administrative duties at their home institution.
The goal is to support long-term academic networks and collaborations that benefit the Swedish research community—such as organizing seminars, conferences, or initiating joint research projects. The programme encourages both deepened focus and broadened perspectives, as well as active participation in the academic life of the host institution.
